.oh how we love our 2CV'S!! Happy and safe motoring to all.....Have a sad tale to tell, we were going along the straight into PAEROA coming from Te Aroha, not very fast, and all of a sudden WHOOP!! bl****dy Nora!! what was that we hit? stopped and out the car, and a damn Pukako had rushed out of the long grass and whacked my grill, stupid bird , dead as a DODO!, golly never live that down being hit by a Pukako....cost me a packet a new bonnet and grill, thank goodness for insurance!
Trust all had a lovely Christmas with their families, we had a good Christmas,on the 2nd of Dec., M12CV made a trip up to the Coromandel, Waihi and Thames, Waihi it just rained for 3 days, hello whatz unusual about that, I used to live there, wet and windy, but was nice to look around..we then shot up to Thames on the coast, actually was fine weather, stayed a couple nights, enjoyed looking around old Grahamstown at the old buildings, I am a member of the Historical Society so really enjoy the ambiance of theold part of Grahamstown, so full of history....M2CV went very well, nary a splutter.....but after a few days home she developed a rather noisy noise! Tony Baggley kindly had a look and said she needs a bit of welding, (exhaust),so she's been in the garage until businesses open again damn! so I'm grounded....again lol
A recent trip to the Rotorua Paradise Lion Park on Sept., 20th 2009 was enjoyed by members of the Waikato Citroen Car Club, followed by a very nice lunch and good company at our host Kevin's beautiful Rotorua home, complete with warm swimming pool for the brave and a hot spa for the cold ones..One of the highlights for me were the tipsy Tuis larking about in the blossom laden Kowhai trees, filling the air with their throaty chuckles. Was not so impressed with the 7 lions stuck in a wire enclosure.

Hi folks I hope you are enjoying your visit to Citroen 2cv downunder, here I will endeavour to keep you up with any 2cv news or rallies, we have more action down in the South Island, to my knowledge there is no club here in the North Island specifically for our quirky 2cv's, but there is still plenty of action in various Car Clubs just enquire around your area, I joined the South Waikato Car Club & Citroen Car Club for that reason and they are a very friendly crowd who make one very welcome, the annual Forest Rally for the SWCC is very very interesting, but I found for my little car was a bit rough in a few places, but then I coddle it a bit, the engine is amazing as any 2cv owner will testify, however I do pamper my baby somewhat, I notice in overseas rallies they really thrash the old 2cvs , great motors seem to go forever, great for aircraft engine conversion because of their reliability, now that must be a plus! The 2cv is also one of the most comfy cars I have been in, marvelous suspension, one thing I have noticed driving around is that children always notice the 2cv before the adults and their faces break out into wondering smiles, I guess our quirky little cars look a bit like 'Noddy's car"
Now if you would like your special baby to be online for the world to see, send me jpg of you and your 2cv, dyane, ami, etc., with the relevant info and it shall be done, or any other news re our wonderful Citroen family..........
