We recently took a run across to the Te Puke Auto Barn with the SOUTH WAIKATO VINTAGE CAR CLUB on gloomySunday 20th August/06.
It was a lovely if not somewhat damp drive thru the rolling back country hills...via Oturoa, twin Peaks, Te Rangi school, etc., it was a beautiful vista coming down from the hills thru the many kiwi fruit blocks, out onto the main highway and then left to Te puke Auto Barn
Here members had a feast of eye candy in the shape of immaculately and lovingly restored beauties of yesteryear, my favorite was a Chryzler Coupe 1922, orange and white valued at $130,000..lol only:>)
30 members of the SWVCC, enjoyed their homepacked lunches in the well stocked upstairs library, and catching up with old friends.........
I took some pics of a few Citroens that were there.....below.
SOUTH WAIKATO VINTAGE CAR CLUB MEMBERS parked out side the Te Puke Auto Barn, in the foreground Reg & Poko BLOMFIELD'S ( Tokoroa) gleaming SUNBEAM TALBOT......under a somewhat grey sky.....
UPDATE: 2008 Sadly this museum has since been dismantled and all the cars gone back to their respective owners or sold, this wonderful auto venue is now history, and I think now is a backpackers lodge...
